FOREST SCHOOL AND PE UPDATE

FOREST SCHOOL AND PE UPDATE 1

Division

We have been learning how to divide by sharing. We have been using practical resources to help us.

FOREST SCHOOL REMINDER - with the weather getting colder please make sure that your child has enough warm clothes for Forest School. If they are wearing wellies please send them with 2 pairs of socks so they have warm feet.

Thank you

As part of our Art Lesson this week, we have been learning about different types of printing. We went outside to collect items to use in our printing. We used different techniques and got different effects. We have made lots of different types of footprints that belong to different animals. Can you guess who they might belong to?
We have been writing sentences using '-ed' endings and commas in a list about the animals that the giant helped in the story we have been reading this week - 'The Smartest Giant in Town'.
To start off our topic 'Is there such thing as a Gruffalo?' we have been learning about animals and why they might need to be camouflaged. We looked at different animal patterns and have used pastels to create some art.

FOREST SCHOOL UPDATE - due to unforseen circumstances there will be no Forest School on Friday 14th December. However, we will be going next week on Friday 21st December.

As part of Christmas jumper day, Mrs Cresswell's literacy group have been solving a Christmas crime! Santa's cookies had been stolen, and we had to solve lots of grammar and spelling clues to find out which reindeer did it! We practised making plurals with s and es, deciding whether sentences were exclamations, questions or statements, find a correct spelling and add suffixes! Luckily they solved the crime and found out that Holly the reindeer did it! Well done!

We have been creating beards for Mr. Twit and making Giant Peaches as part of our topic on Roald Dahl.

Friday 23rd November Writing Limericks

Mrs Cresswell's literacy group had a great time reading and writing limericks today!

Callum wrote:

There once was a young boy named Fred

Who didn't want to get out of bed

He wriggled around

And made a big frown

And said "I'll never jump out of this bed!"

Rosie and Italia wrote this one:

There was a young girl from Margate,

Who was always incredibly late,

She jumped on a bus

And was in a big rush

As the clock said 8:58!

Thomas and Nathaniel:

There was a big giant from Wales

Who always tells terrible tales,

He decided to jump in a loo

And saw some green poo

And he said that he had seen a snail.

Connor:

There once was a young boy named Fred,

Who didn't want to get out of bed,

He wriggled around

And made a big sound

Then he fell to the floor and was dead!

As part of our topic this term on 'Inspirational People' we have been listening to Vivaldi's Four Seasons and using water colour we have painted trees showing the seasons.

Pumpkin Show and Tell

Pumpkin Show and Tell 1
Pumpkin Show and Tell 2

We had a very exciting Show and Tell today. Emilie has grown a pumpkin from seed at her Grandad's Allotment. She was telling us all about how she had to water it and how she picked it. She has grown three and one was even bigger than the one she brought in to show us.

To help parents who have siblings in different years, each year group will have a different after school session where ever possible.
