Welcome to Picasso Class

Picture 1

Maths - pg52 and pg 53 - due in Monday 1st July.

Forest School is every Thursday at  9.30am.

As our forest school has moved to an earlier time children are welcome to come in wearing their forest school clothes. However they must bring their usual uniform to change into after forest school.

Please send your children into school with a named bag with:

  • A pair of trousers and a long sleeve top (to protect arms and legs from nettles and brambles)
  • Gloves / sunhat (weather dependent)
  • A waterproof coat (and trousers if you have them)
  • Wellington boots

Homework is given every Wednesday and is due back in on a Monday. The homework alternates between phonics and maths homework. To complete phonics homework (little yellow books) the children should practise reading the sound to you that has been dated for that week. If they cannot remember how to pronounce the sound turn the page and let them use the picture prompt to help them. For example for the sound 'ou' the picture prompt and phrase is 'shout it out'. There are also words on the picture page that the children should 'fred talk' and say to you.

For Maths homework the children will bring home their blue maths homework books with allocated pages for them to complete. There are study pages to go over before the children attempt the homework page.

Reading books:

The children's reading books are changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday if they have finished their book. The children are reminded to put their books in the purple tray on these days so that they can be checked. The children are encouraged as much as possible to choose their next book independently.

 In Term 3 and Term 4 we will have PE every Wednesday afternoon, the sessions for this term will be in the hall. Children will need the following labelled clothing;

  • White T-Shirt
  • Black shorts/Jogging bottoms
  • Plimsolls
Termly presentations

Each term there will be a short presentation for each year group to help explain what your children will be learning this term, share the class timetable, discuss homework and answer any questions you may have. The presentation will last no more than 20 minutes and will be straight after school in your child's classroom.

To help parents who have siblings in different years, each year group will have a different after school session where ever possible.

After the presentation, any information shared will be uploaded onto this class page.
