Year 6 Parents
Dear parents and carers,
Firstly I would like to start with the wonderful news that Mrs Whyte, who shares Fibonacci class with Mr Badger is expecting her second child. She is due to start her maternity leave in the Spring term. We will be advertising and interviewing for her maternity cover over the next few weeks. As soon as we know more we will let you know.
Secondly we would like to inform parents of a recent incident with one of our pupils on Whatsapp. The pupil received a message in the early hours from an unknown number, informing her that it was one of her friends with a new number.
We are very proud to say that this pupil was mature (and well informed enough) to recognise that something was not quite right and she immediately showed the message to an adult. Her friend had not changed her number and all the details have now been passed on to the relevant agencies.
Please can you speak to your children and make sure that they understand not to accept any friend requests or messages from numbers the do not know, if the person says they are your friend, wait until you see them in person to check if they have changed their number. Messages at funny hours or from numbers you don’t recognise should always be shown to an adult.
