School opens another Thrive room!
To further meet the social and emotional well being of the children in our school we have set up another Thrive room. This is located on the infant side where you will find our Thrive practitioner, Mrs Coster, working with KS1 children. If you want to come and have a look at our new room then please contact us to arrange a visit.
More staff training
We're pleased to tell you that an additional four members of staff are about to begin their Thrive practitioner training.
Come and visit Manor’s Thrive room!!
The Thrive team has had great success in helping children in Manor over the last year since Thrive was set up at the school. Over 50 children will benefit from visiting the Thrive room over the next 8 weeks with one of our trained practitioners as part of our pastoral provision. At the end of the school day on Wednesday 9th October the doors of the Thrive room will be open (3 to 3:30pm) for parents to come and have a look at the room and meet our Thrive practitioners, who will be available to answer any questions about how we use the Thrive approach at Manor School.
The Thrive practitioners, Mrs Dinari, Mr Carter and Mrs Coster held their Thrive information evening this week. A huge thank you to the parents that attended. They learnt that Thrive uses creative arts and play to help with the social and emotional needs of children in the school and how this is backed up by attachment theory and the science of the brain. We showed off our lovely Thrive room, shared activities that we carry out with the children, took part in breathing exercises and ended with a fun game of balloon tennis!!
Congratulations to our school learning mentors Mrs Coster and Mr Carter who are now qualified Thrive practitioners.
